Let's have some fun horsing around
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer free introductory sessions?
Yes, please call to schedule. New students who are interested in taking lessons may schedule a free 15 minute introductory session to see if we would be a good fit.
What is the cost?
See our Online Booking Site for current pricing.
Do you offer any discounts, specials, or scholarships?
Our standard discounts include:
Group Discount:
Any additional student receiving their lesson at the same time is 50% off
Monthly (recurring) Students:
Students who book and pay for their same recurring monthly slot (4 lessons) receive a discount off the single session rate.
Are reservations required? How far in advance must they be booked?
Bookings are first resfor regular students with recurring appointments.
After recurring students are booked, appointments are made available at the end of the month for new or walk-in students.
If you don't see a slot that fits your schedule, shoot us a message - not all openings are listed online!
Do I need to have any prior horseback riding experience?
No! I teach all levels - most of my students have no prior horseback riding experience
Is there an age or weight  minimum? Do you teach adults?
I generally teach children 5+ to Adults. Every child is different. I'm happy to give younger children a chance to meet the animals and ride the pony.
The weight limit for horseback riding is 250lbs
What should I wear? What equipment is provided?
Closed toed shoes are required, and helmets are strongly encouraged (and required for all minors). We have helmets available, or you are welcome to bring your own - a bicycle helmet is acceptable
Dress appropriate for the weather. We recommend long pants for comfort. During the summer you may need sunscreen or bug spray. Boots or tennis shoes are acceptable.
During wet seasons, such as spring or after rain, muddy conditions will exist. Mud or rainboots are a great option.
Where will lessons take place?
Lessons take place at our outdoor horse paddock, at the address listed. As students gain experience and reach higher levels, we may leave the area for longer rides.
Are lessons group or private?
Lessons are in small groups, generally no more than 1-2 people.
Discounts are given for multiple students signing up within the same session.
What is the Weather, Cancellation, and No-show policy?
Cancellations made by Unicorn's Riding, such as due to inclement weather or sickness, can be rescheduled within 3 weeks at no cost. Note that as our paddock is outdoors, weather cancellations may be frequent.
Appointments may be rescheduled the day prior at no cost. No-shows and/or peated same-day cancellations may be charged a cancellation fee, up to the full amount of the lesson.
My child is interested but I'm not sure I can afford lessons. Do you barter?
Yes! If you have a skill (gardening, handyman, massage, or other work), or if you just have a kid who wants to work to help get discounted or free lessons, contact us and we can discuss.
Do you offer gift cards?
Do you do birthday parties, festivals, or other events?
Schedule permitting, I am able to do other services, such as birthday parties. Please contact to discuss availability and pricing.
